Returners to Work

Who can benefit from our returning to work coaching?

Maternity leave, paternity leave, a sabbatical, a long-term illness: many groups of people taking time out are leaving a skills and talent gap in organisations, often not returning, or worse - returning fraught with insecurity.

What results can you expect from our programmes?

In as little as 3 coaching sessions, we enable your employee to make the right decision without fear of bias by offering a discreet, flexible coaching service which can include:

  • Pre-decision discussions
  • Career development
  • Whole life planning, ensuring decisions encompass all aspects of life

By the end of their sessions coachees report that they have been able to:

  • Successfully plan their re-integration into work by getting up to speed with projects, reconnecting with key stakeholders and managing the handover of work to and from colleagues
  • Identify potential emotions, concerns and the practicalities of returning to work after a long period of absence
  • Understand the impact of change on themselves and those around them
  • Define behavioural and environmental strategies for coping with change
  • Map and reflect upon their career path to date
  • Identify their future aspirations and motivators
  • Define and manage barriers to success and strategies to successfully overcome them
  • Establish support networks and make them work
  • Create action plans

This means they return to the workplace as a motivated, engaged individual ready to lead your organisation forward.

Why choose to work with us?

The People Development Team's sessions work on two levels, by tangibly affecting the performance of returners, and by ensuring that their return is right for them and your organisation in the short, medium and long term.

We have in-depth knowledge of a range of industry sectors from finance to logistics and understand the complexity of being a leader.
Our team has wide experience of supporting staff through this transitioning process so that they return to work with their life in order, fully motivated and with clarity of direction and purpose and importantly they will have made a balanced decision on when to return.
