What is web-powered learning?
Online web collaboration tools can be to deliver dynamic, live and interactive learning to anyone anywhere, via the web.
Web-powered platforms such as WebEx act as a live remote classroom, which mimics a real classroom in every way: the trainer is seen and heard live, there is an interactive whiteboard and break-out spaces for smaller group discussions and it also supports tools such as PowerPoint and video in real time.
How does it work?
Everyone sees and hears and even writes on a shared white board, simultaneously. This means that the training experience is very dynamic and can be guided to give learners more control through easy-to-use tools. All the training sessions can be recorded for revision and follow-up learning sessions. Web-powered solutions are completely flexible: Delivery is highly effective regardless of location and group size.
How can I use web-powered training?
At Cisco we are using WebEx to develop their leaders who are located all over the world. The leadership and personal development course they are following is based on our VIVE! model and is broken down into a series of two hour sessions. These are designed to optimise the learners’ schedules and provide the most effective learning experience.
We also use these tools to deliver:
- High-powered 2 hour sessions on topics such as: leadership, performance management and teams
- Follow up and feedback on behavioural analysis
This method of delivery provides an effective learning experience: the learning modules are designed to give maximum input whilst allowing for structured reflection between sessions.
The flexibility afforded by online collaboration tools such as WebEx in terms of time, location, scope and scalability means that we can provide learning solutions at great cost efficiency and very high effectiveness in terms of successful learning outcomes.
