The People Development Team (PDT) are celebrating! The highly successful leadership training company, based in Sawbridgeworth, has been awarded the prestigious Investors in People (IiP) Standard with the assessor quoting PDT as one of the best examples of a development culture she had ever encountered.
IiP is the national award which sets a level of good practice for training and development of staff to achieve the goals of the organisation. Achieving the Standard was not difficult for PDT which, as the report confirms, “is an organisation that truly lives the message of development.”
Heather Butler, Managing Director, said: "I am delighted that we have been awarded the standard as it shows that we really do practice what we teach.”
"The assessor gave us extremely positive feedback and, as a training and development company, it is vital for us to live and breathe development not only for our customers, but for our own staff.”
The assessor interviewed over 70% of the staff and recorded many comments including:
“I was amazed at how seriously they took my indication and how thoroughly it was done.”
“The organisation does not need IiP – it just does it.”
“PDT is one of the most professional companies I have worked for.”
“There is huge scope and potential for development.”
Angela Peacock, PDT’s Chair, said: "This recognition is fantastic. Heather and I established the company to deliver great training and great service, but we always knew that we also wanted, and needed, to have an organisation that could grow and develop its people. The internal commitment to our staff matches that to our clients and creates a great culture to work for and to work with.”
In conclusion, Heather said “We went for the standard as it demonstrates our commitment to both staff and customers, and is an award highly valued by our stakeholders. We will be celebrating as a team – it was a team effort."

The award is further recognition of PDT’s commitment to staff training and development.
PDT run a wide range of programmes including the nationally accredited ILM* programme which six of PDT’s own staff have attended.
Although PDT’s head office is based in Sawbridgeworth near Stansted, they also have bases in Dublin, Belfast and Manchester.
