This one day programme provides an alternative to the traditional
performance management programme. It focuses on the development of a
performance based approach to management by exploring the behaviours
and techniques that allow all members of the team to improve their
results.
This programme is designed to equip managers with the skills
necessary to improve their team's performance using a variety of tools
and techniques.
Who is it for?
This programme is most suitable for middle managers of larger
organisations (i.e. with 250+ employees), senior managers in smaller
organisations or aspiring middle managers

Defining performance management in the every day operation through an interactive activity. During the session we will look at how our every day behaviour has a direct impact on our performance management as well as how we reward team members for behaving or performing badly. We will also look at how Performance Management supports over achievers, an aspect often overlooked. |
10.15 - 10.45 High Performing Cultures
How do you know whether you are part of a high performing culture, what are the attributes and challenges faced by organisations and leaders as they strive to become high performing? During this session we will explore these issues and their alternatives |
10.45 - 11.00 Competencies and Values
How do values and competencies fit into high performance? How do these benefit the organisation? We will look at the twin peaks of performance - task and behaviour. |
11.00 - 11.15 Break

11.15 - 12.30 Strategic Objective Setting
An opportunity to dig beyond SMART objectives, using alternate methods to define objectives for the team and the individuals within the team. The session will also show you how to develop behavioural objectives and allow you the opportunity to practice writing them. Within this session we will also explore the psychology of targets and how they affect behaviour. |

13.45 - 14.15 Monitoring Performance
This short session explores effective ways of monitoring performance to help individuals perform more effectively within their role |

Effective feedback can really lift performance levels; this interactive session looks at a number of feedback models and how and where they can be used most effectively. During the session you will be provided with opportunities to practice the models on colleagues |
