This programme is designed to develop a manager's understanding of leadership, up-skill in key aspects
of communication, equip them with the skills to build a high performing team and develop an
understanding of how to plan and deliver effective change.

By the end of the 3 days, delegates will be able to:
Day 1: Building a high performing team through great leadership
- Recognise the difference between leadership and management
- Identify alternative leadership styles and qualities
- Know when and how to apply a particular leadership style in the workplace
- Assess the effects of differing leadership styles on group activities
- Recognise own preferred leadership style
- Develop trust within the team
- Recognise the difference between groups and teams
- Identify the stages of development of teams
- Recognise the current development stage of the team
- Recognise the range of team roles and apply this concept to build an effective team
Day 2: Driving change through great communication
- Identify reasons which prompt change
- Assist in designing new systems and procedures for own area of responsibility
- Identify and plan activities to achieve change
- Identify and plan the resource needed and the training and development implications
- Identify and plan timescale to achieve objectives
- Plan communication and involvement to facilitate effective change
- Understand the concept of the communication cycle
- Recognise and overcome barriers to communication
- Apply basic theories to ensure effective communication in the workplace
Day 3: Sharing experience and taking your learning forward
- Delegates will give a presentation about the progress they have made using their newly learnt leadership and management skills
- Share learning on changes which have worked and lessons that have been learnt
- Understand the basic principles of coaching
- Consider the interpersonal side of being a coach
- Learn how to use the ‘GROW’ coaching model
- Hold a group coaching circle focusing on resolving operational issues using GROW questions
- Action plan on what’s next
