JOB TITLE: Business Development Manager
REPORTING TO: Director of Funding and Accreditation
HOURS: 9.00am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday (Home Based – ideally within easy commute of Head Office in Ware, Herts)
ROLE SUMMARY:
This role has been created to develop the funded activities of the People Development Team. It involves the identification and accessing of government funding on a local, regional and national level to support PDT in the achievement of its strategy and objectives.
SPECIFIC TASKS:
- Lead and manage PDT national funded strategy which includes building and maintaining a variety of funded projects with a projected income of over £2.5 million during the next two years
- Build and maintain local, regional and national partnerships, intermediary and broker contacts to support targeted growth and raise the profile of PDT
- Develop partnership collaboration strategies to support targeted growth and raise the profile of PDT
- Liaise with appropriate bodies to ensure timely awareness of funding opportunities and ensure appropriate action is taken to access funding
- Identify and bring to the attention of the Senior Management Team those opportunities which are of potential benefit of PDT and it’s clients
- Secure identified funding sources and lead the ensuing negotiation
- Ensure products and funding meet profitability and turnover requirements through utilising the sales team to reach targets
- Liaise with marketing and quality and operations to ensure all products/programmes/Train to Gain activities are marketed and sourced in line with PDT quality procedure requirements
- Research tender and framework opportunities and bid for funds in agreement with the Senior Management Team
- Write and develop tender and bid specifications to support funded growth
- Set up support systems and mechanisms to manage new funding launches and reporting working with marketing, finance, quality and contract management and administration
- Maintain regular contact and briefings with Account Managers to ensure they understand and commit to supporting the funding concepts and targets that need to be achieved
- Manage Train to Gain consortiums across the region working alongside the quality department
- Attend and manage meetings with funding bodies and awarding bodies as appropriate
- Further develop the sales and management of funded contracts in specific areas when minimum thresholds of income are achievement
- Liaise with appropriate bodies to ensure timely awareness of funding opportunities
- Liaise with all departments to ensure all programmes are marketed and sourced in line with PDT Quality requirements
- Any other reasonable tasks related to the job role as requested by the Directors
- Control own travel budget
Salary: Dependent on experience.
